God is love! The title track of john the raptist word for word, King James Version, rap Bible recital CD. The album is made up of all 5 chapters of 1st John, 2nd and 3rd John, as well as Jude and Philemon. The inspiration for the album comes from I John 2:14b “I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.”
John has had a long history for the love of music. Listening to 50’s music in the house as an infant, but born in the 70’s, he not only grew up during the Disco and Rock era, but then was introduced to rap in the late 70’s as well.But his love for music is deeper than that, from anything to the old Hymnals and even Crooner style music. For years, John has recorded rap albums in recording studios as a teenager. But each recording seemed to lead to a dead end with broken promises. Nevertheless, John’s love for music continued and along with that was a street life of destruction. A runaway at 16 years of age, John had a natural sense of family and looked for that in the broken streets of Elizabeth. By 21, John was a full blown drug addict and alcoholic. With times of incarceration, he had time to think with only a bed, toilet and sink, and Bible! “Do I really want to live like this the rest of my life?” One day while John was badly intoxicated with alcohol and narcotics, John would say, “It was as a light came on. I just had this incredible desire to walk away from the way I was living and give Jesus a try.” There was no rhyme or reason why John should walk away. Nevertheless, he did and the next day went to church. There was a woman John knew since an adolescent. Her name was Julia Menton. She was a believer in Jesus Christ and a praying woman. John had not seen this woman for years. When John walked into church on Sunday, there she was, with no one else in the church. As John thought to make his way to the altar, he heard a cracking of pews. When John looked over there was Julia, shuffling toward John with her arms open and saying, “Johnny, I’ve been praying for you.” At that moment, the flood gates opened and John wepted with Julia and asked Jesus into his heart. |

As John was and is still growing in the Lord, he would then experience the infilling of the Holy Spirit. And as John goes from event to event, he simply lifts the name of Jesus in the presence of God, no differently than when he is alone. John’s hope, is that as God’s people gather, there would be the Holy Spirit in the midst, touching and transforming lives. One of the scriptures John prays that would come to pass is 1st Corinthians 12:3. “Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say Jesus is Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.”
“The only reason I walked off that corner of death, is one reason, and one reason only. I decided to follow Jesus because of the miracle of one woman’s prayers of light for me in a dark place. The Holy Spirit paid me a visit in light, regenerating my sleeping, slumbering human spirit and bringing me to light that I can say, ‘Yes! Jesus Christ is Lord.” John’s heart is to reach the young and elderly alike, with the salvation message of God’s only Son Jesus Christ. “The Bible says, ‘It is the will of the father that all men come to the Salvation knowledge of God.’ Paul said that ‘The Kingdom of God is not word only, but is power!’ That power is the Holy Spirit, the guest of honor in every event. Without Him, we might as well pack up and go home.”
John is married, and they are the proud parents of three beautiful daughters who love the Lord. Currently touring or as he would say, “building a platform for Jesus!” John has hosted shows such as “G-Rock” and “Extreme Music Videos” on the JCTV/TBN network, as well as radio appearances on Star 99.1fm in the N.Y. tri state area as well as radio stations around the world. John has also appeared in many magazine write ups. You will soon find the “God is Love” CD on online stores such as BestBuy, Target, WalMart, Barnes and Nobles, FYE, CD Baby and Christianbook.com.
John’s passion is that people would experience the life changing power of knowing God’s word in the life of the reader. John can testify to the power of God’s word filling your mind, changing your thinking, and then your direction. “Some may call that indoctrination,” John says, “but not so. Indoctrination of man gets you to think how man wants you to think in order to manipulate you into the direction of man. God is waiting for your thinking to be like His, so that your direction with change toward Him, a turn around, if you will, or true repentance, then He meets you with blessing. ‘Draw nigh unto me, and I will draw nigh unto you.”
